You should only make wines you love to drink...
2015 Cooper's Cuvee - Oaklee's Blend
In 2015 we lost our Calistoga Petite Sirah fruit contract due to replanting of the vineyard... Cooper was very concerned we would not be producing a wine for the vintage so we got a little creative. We had some cabernet sauvignon (that we were not using to produce our 74-41 cabernet sauvignon) and Kian found some available zinfandel fruit at harvest from a small grower in Yountville... and we came up with a very special blend. We blended the fruit and crafted a couple of barrels for our 2015 Cooper's Cuvee - Oaklee's Blend (a tribute to our chocolate lab who passed away in 2017). We know Oaklee would have been proud of his wine - dark and briary fruit (cranberry/raspberry/blackberry) followed by just a kiss of chocolate and spice - the wine has a BIG personality just like Oaklee had.
Cabernet Sauvignon and zinfandel - the wine was aged in French Oak (45% new) for 22 months.
