2017 SONOMA COAST CHARDONNAY:
We bottled our 2017 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay from Gold Coast Vineyard and the wine is now available for purchase in our tasting room. We will be releasing this wine on our website in mid-January, 2019. We were proud to receive our first review from Cliff Brown - 93 points and a "must buy". Info coming soon on the website release date.
This was our third year participating in PNV and our first in the live auction. Our lot this year (Trois III) was a blend of three cabernet vineyards - mostly Yates Family Vineyard (Mt. Veeder) along with Stagecoach Vineyard (Pritchard Hill) and Rutherford. The wine was quite expressive with its mountain fruit dominance and showed larger than most - we see a big juicy rib-eye in a future pairing!
We are thrilled to share that Gary's Wine and Markeplace in New Jersey was our winning bidder this year. The wine will be bottled later this summer and shipped in the fall - we'll let you now when it's available at Gary's for those that wish to purchase this very special wine.
PREMIERE NAPA VALLEY:
Premiere Napa Valley week has just concluded. It's always a fun week catching up with our past bidders, and meeting up with old and new friends.
91+ POINTS - ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE LOVES OUR 2015 MALBEC!
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Malbec (plus a 3% dollop of petit verdot) leaps from the glass with exuberant cassis, baked plums and blackberry culies notes plus hints of licorice, dark chocolate, violets and pepper. Medium to full-bodied and solidly constructed in the mouth, it has a firm, grainy backbone and bags of freshness, finishing on a spicy note. Drink 2017-2026. Issued Date: 10/31/17.
2015 MERLOT - OAK KNOLL - 90 POINTS CONNOISSEURS' GUIDE
Here is a well-made offering that plays by the varietal book insofar as it is supple and fleshy and long on juicy, very affable, cherry-like fruit that is the calling card of good Merlot. It is both rich and nicely balanced, and its tactile polish and polite manner belie its tender years. it is sure to test the impatient, and we cannot condemn those tempted into hasty drinking, but, its hard-to-ignore charms noted, its fruity stamina make us unquestioning believers in its five-year + future.
