Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
2016 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 94+ points
James Suckling 93 points
From the heart of the Rutherford Bench, this historic vineyard is planted exclusively to cabernet sauvignon and produces some of Napa Valley's most cherished wines.
Dark garnet in the glass with purple undertones. The nose expresses crushed blackberries, red currants, cassis and hints of cedar and spice. Deeply expressive and multi-dimensional with a rich and earthy palate. Blackberry with a sauve, brash and attractive edge to the long finish. Truly a special wine - in 5 years you'll be saying "I wish I bought more..." Aged 22 months in French Oak (100% new).
Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch a healthy splash of Malbec (Melrose Vineyard/Rutherford) and just a splash of Merlot (Orchard Avenue/Oak Knoll).
This wine is a true bargain to it's peer group.
You should only make wines you love to drink...
