In 2017, my brother, Oaklee, crossed the rainbow bridge at the young age of 7. Oaklee was my best buddy and I really miss him. He was very doggie... he loved to retrieve, take baths, give kisses and snuggle with mom and dad on the couch. He had health issues since the age of 2 and required a lot of care having had multiple surgeries. I miss running and playing with him and doing zoomies in the backyard. I made a special blend of wine for him for the 2015 vintage - it is cabernet sauvignon and zinfandel - I know he would have liked it.
Winery Dog - Cooper
Hi - my name is Cooper and I am a black labrador retriever. My mom and dad say I'm spoiled, a bit of a diva at times, very smart and I have my own wines called Cooper's Cuvee.
I am very proud to put my name on each bottle and I pawtograph each one. Although my mom and dad have been making Cooper's Cuvee wines since 2006, they have now put my name front and center on my own label. My wines are best in show (bark out loud) and some of my favorites include my Black Paw Petite Sirah and my new Red Collar Rose'.
You should only make wines you love to drink...
I know I have a pretty good life and my mom and dad take good care of me. In 2019, I partnered with Pets Lifeline (the local Sonoma, CA animal shelter) and I am donating a portion of the sale of my wines to them - to help my fur friends who are waiting for their forever homes!
Mom and Dad told us we had to help out with the wine business - checkout the video below when we made a special appearance at halftime at the Nets/Golden State Warriors game. That's Mike Fratello and Ryan Ruocco talking about mom and dad's wines and of course me and Oaklee ...
You may have noticed a handsome chocolate labrador retriever on the back of our wine labels... his name was Trouble (although he was never any trouble at all). Trouble was my mom and dad's first fur kid - I never met him but he must have been a pretty special guy as they put his photo on the back label of every bottle of Jean Edwards Cellars wines. Trouble passed over the rainbow bridge at the age of 14 1/2 and we are sure he was there to meet Oaklee to show him the way.
